Our Facility: Founded in 2001 as a sister school to Wee Lad &
Lassie, with a focus on the very young learner.  Located in the heart of
beautiful Severna Park, our programs include a toddler program for 18
month olds and young 2-year-olds, an older 2-year old program for ages
30 months and up, and a 3-year-old program. We offer morning
preschool classes from 9 a.m. to noon, and full day extended care from
7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for working families.

Our Program: In 2005 A Child’s Garden joined the very few
independent preschool programs to be accredited by the Maryland
Department of Education Early Childhood Accreditation Project.  This
means our management, staff and curricula meet the highest
standards in Maryland. Our curricula are broad based, covering
Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. Also included
are music and computer instruction, arts and crafts, physical
education, and Spanish. We promote the development of the whole child
by fostering  physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth.  We
believe that a developmentally appropriate approach to learning and
individual attention are the keys to a high quality early childhood
education.

Our Staff: Our teachers and staff members are enthusiastic
about children and teaching! The interaction between children and
adults is positive, warm and nurturing with lots of attention to each
child's needs.   We find that our teachers are happy here, the rate of
turnover is low, with many of our staff remaining for a number of years.

Please feel free to call with questions you may have or to schedule a
visit.  We encourage parents and students to visit our facility to
observe classes in session and meet our staff; that is the best way to
evaluate a program!
