Our teachers and staff members are enthusiastic about children and teaching! The interaction between children and adults is positive, warm and nurturing, with lots of attention to each child's needs. We find that our teachers are happy here, with many of our staff remaining for a number of years.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Program Director of both A Child’s Garden and Wee Lad & Lassie Early Learning Center beginning in 1985. I am especially proud of our Level 5 rating in MD EXCELS which is evidence of our dedication to high quality early childhood education and care. My guiding philosophy is to meet the needs of each child and family through the application of best practices in early education and my knowledge of child development.
I completed my undergraduate education at Penn State University in Biology with an Early Childhood Education minor, followed by a Masters in Early Childhood Education at Towson University. In 2016 I earned my doctorate from Johns Hopkins University in Education with a specialization in Entrepreneurial Leadership. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to prepare young children for success in school and in life!
Roshanda Williams, Twos Lead Teacher
I started teaching about twenty years ago because of my love for children. I also wanted to be with my own kids while they were in childcare! I love to see the growth in children and the joy they get from what they have accomplished. I love to sing, dance, and just have fun with children. In my spare time, I like spending time with my family and shopping. I'm so happy to be a part of the A Child's Garden family
Miranda Petrella, Twos Lead Teacher
This is my first-year teaching. And I am currently taking classes at Anne Arundel Community College. I have a 7-year-old daughter named Mackenzie. We love to go paddle boarding on the weekends and go hiking together! I absolutely love kids and am looking forward to a good year with your lovely children
Greg McClure, Assistant Director
I live on the Eastern shore with my wife and daughters. Both my wife and I are educators in Anne Arundel County and enjoy the scenic commute over the bay bridge every day! Since 2001, I have served as classroom teacher, child development specialist, and administrator. I truly feel privileged to be serving as our school's Assistant Director! Please never hesitate to call, email, or stop by the office for a chat.
Via Kowalczyk, Two's Assistant Teacher
I've worked with kids of all ages for almost half of my life. Helping children learn and grow is something I love to do. I grew up in Calvert County, but recently moved to Anne Arundel County. I have found it to be a beautiful area with sweet people. I am currently taking classes through the College of Southern Maryland. I am looking forward to this school year. We are going to have so much fun with the children - we always have the most fun at A Child's Garden!
Jaida Williams , Two's Assistant Teacher
I am a student at Anne Arundel Community College with one semester left before I earn my associate’s degree. I plan to transfer to a 4-year institution to study microbiology and hope to work in lab research in the future. I enjoy singing, reading, and spending time with my two pets. I have a dog named Ginger and a cat named Diamond. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of our friends here at A Child’s Garden

I have my CPR and first aid certification as well. ● I enjoy traveling, watching Disney movies (my favorite is Nightmare Before Christmas), and cuddling with my cat! I am looking forward to this year! I am excited to teach and learn from all of the children!
Trisha Carire , Threes/ Pre-K Teacher
I was born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico. I have so much love for my culture. I always make it my mission to share it with my classroom. I am fluent in English and Spanish. I am also working towards learning ASL. Two things that I really enjoy are butterflies and traveling. I’ve been working in various areas of childcare since I was 19 years old. From nannying to assistant teaching, aiding to leading classrooms, I am confident in saying that teaching and getting to help grow children is my area of expertise and passion.
